Biography
Dr. Woodlief is a native of California, born in San Francisco and raised in the South Bay where he attended and graduated from Milpitas High School, after which he attended and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of California at Santa Cruz. In 1991, Dr. Woodlief graduated from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, in Boston, Massachusetts where he earned a Doctorate of Dental Medicine.
Upon the completion of his education, Dr. Woodlief returned to California and worked as an associate with the Saratoga Dental Associates for four years.
In August of 1995, Dr. Woodlief fulfilled his lifelong dream to help people live a healthy pain free life, by establishing his private practice in San Jose, California.
In 1999, Dr. Woodlief relocated his growing practice to a custom built medical facility, equipped with the latest in oral health technology, focused on providing an atmosphere devoted to patient comfort rarely experienced at other dental offices.
Dr. Woodlief has continued to broaden his ability to help his patients by studying extensively with the Mid-Atlantic Orthodontic Society, with a concentration on Temporomandibular Disorder (TMD). As a result, all of Dr. Woodlief's procedures and office services focus on achieving a comfortable and functionally correct bite. Dr. Woodlief’s specialty in TMD offers unique, innovative, and conservative methods in the diagnosis and treatment of this often frustrating and debilitating condition. The success he has achieved in improving the quality of his patients' lives continues to fuel Dr. Woodlief’s enthusiasm about his work.
Dr. Woodlief cares for his patients with an exceptional demeanor of empathy and compassion, always striving to ensure his patients are relaxed, comfortable and without pain. To achieve this unparalleled level of patient care, Dr. Woodlief averages over 200 hours annually of continuing education, which is more than four times the State of California requirements.
